Whilst exhibiting at the Autosport International Show in 2008 we were approached by a representative from Vortex exhaust who set out a sales pitch about how good their product was, and what we could expect as regards gains in performance over others on the market.
Having been in motorsport for over thirty years my thoughts were yes ok we’ve heard all this before and if it’s that good how comes we’ve not heard about it before? The product seemed to simple in design to think it had never been thought of before, but as an engineer I could understand the principle behind the product.
We were still not convinced so in the end vortex supplied us with a race can to test. The results proved to be better than we expected with direct replacement cans giving rolling road gains from twelve to eighteen brake horse power gains.
We have since fitted the silencers to all our hire rally car fleet in 2008/9 and have notched up many class win since, whilst we hope these trophies are not all down to Votex we do believe they have played their part, hence our continued support of their product.
