• Tests on aftermarket exhausts illustrate the results that can be expected by fitting a performance exhaust.
• They were all tested on a dynamometer without making any changes to the stock ECU.
• The baseline measurement was 260 BHP. The comparison was made between major performance exhaust systems.
• The systems tested are all cat back systems with the exception of the vortex, which was a rear box.
• These tests were carried out with no ECU modifications.
• All systems apart from the vortex back box gave minimal improvement in power and torque. By just fitting a Vortex back box to the original system the gains speak for themselves.
• The Vortex resonator can be fitted into any performance exhaust system that are available on the aftermarket, and will give similar gains in both BHP and torque. ECU and map upgrades after fitting a vortex allows an extra dimension in maximising performance (BHP and torque) unobtainable before.
